Three officers enjoy absolute power in PMO
Three officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) serving as Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister Office (PMO) are said to be playing instrumental roles in the PMO. A 1997 batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, Subhasish Panda looks after PMO Funds, PMO Public Grievances & Redressal, Health, Education, Skill Development, Social Justice, Tribal Affairs, Youth Affairs, Culture and Tourism while Ashish Vachhani, a 1997 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, is responsible for Finance, Corporate Affairs, NITI Aayog, Statistics & Programme Implementation, Digital Payments, Heavy Industries, Steel, MSME, Textiles, Labour & Employment and a 1999 batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, Amit Singh Negi is playing an instrumental role in Railways, Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Civil Aviation, Housing & Urban Affairs, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Power, MNRE, Coal, Mines, Environment, Forest & Climate change in the PMO.
