A Dronacharya Sangam Teacher Felicitation Ceremony was organised at SECL DAV School, Bilaspur. Governor of Chhattisgarh, Ramen Deka, graced the programme as the Chief Guest.

The programme commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India and eminent educationist, by Governor Ramen Deka and other dignitaries. The guests also remembered his invaluable contribution to the field of education.

During the ceremony, teachers from all DAV schools functioning under the various operational areas of SECL were felicitated for their outstanding contribution and dedication.

Addressing the gathering, Governor of Chhattisgarh, Ramen Deka, said that student life is an important phase in an individual’s life, during which teachers play a significant role in shaping students’ knowledge, personality and future. He said that the lessons imparted by teachers continue to influence students throughout their lives.

He told the students that there are no shortcuts to success and that consistent hard work, discipline and dedication are essential to achieve success. He encouraged students to stay away from procrastination and laziness and emphasised that the process of learning should never end. An individual should always remain willing to learn something new.

The  Governor said that one should not think about what society has done for us, but rather reflect on what we have done for society. He called upon students to understand their responsibilities towards society and the nation and to utilise their knowledge and abilities to make a positive contribution.

The ceremony was attended by Sunil Jain, Commissioner, Bilaspur Division; Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL; Himanshu Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer, SECL; K Parthipan, Principal, SECL DAV Bilaspur; Mrs Maulika Mukherjee, ARO, DAV Bilaspur Region; and Mrs Suchitra Sharma, Principal, SECL DAV Korba, among other dignitaries. Collector Sanjay Agrawal, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajnesh Singh, along with senior officials of SECL and the District Administration, were also present on the occasion.
