Rajesh Aggarwal is new Chief Secretary, Maharashtra
Rajesh Aggarwal has been appointed as Chief Secretary of Maharashtra. Aggarwal, who hails from Punjab and belongs to 1989 batch IAS officer, started his career as Assistant Collector in Thane district and worked at various positions in the field including Collector of Akola. He proceeded on central deputation in 2003 and worked till 2007 with last posting as Director in Election Commission of India. He returned to the parent cadre in the same year. Aggarwal again joined central deputation in 2015 working as Joint Secretary with various departments including Finance, Tribal, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. He joined Additional Secretary, Petroleum after empanelment. Before returning to parent cadre, he rendered his service as Secretary Skill Development and Social Justice & Empowerment till October 2025.
