As part of his engagements during his visit to Japan, Arunkumar Pillai, CEO, NSDC, met with Fourth Valley Concierge Corporation to discuss opportunities for Indian talent in Japan, while also spending time with NSDCI-trained candidates working at a premium hotel in Tokyo.

The lunch interaction at the hotel offered a particularly personal moment, as Arunkumar Pillai met the candidates at their workplace and heard directly about their experiences of working and building their careers in Japan. Seeing candidates who had trained in India now applying their skills in a global workplace brought the journey from learning to employment to life.

The interaction also provided an opportunity to understand the candidates’ experiences with skills and Japanese language training, the transition into the workplace and the opportunities that opened up for them in Japan. Their journeys reinforce the importance of creating accessible, industry-relevant training and language pathways for aspiring candidates in India.

The engagement with Fourth Valley further highlighted opportunities to strengthen these pathways and connect trained Indian talent with employers and industries in Japan, creating greater opportunities for learners to translate their skills into meaningful careers.

At the heart of these efforts is the aspiration to ensure that training in India can open doors to opportunities across the world. This reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of deepening India–Japan people-to-people exchanges and enabling 50,000 skilled Indian personnel and potential talent to move to Japan over the next five years—creating pathways where Indian youth can learn, work and build their futures globally.
