Appointments of seven Secretaries in Govt of India
As many as seven Secretaries have been appointed to various Ministries and Departments in the Government of India. Accordingly, a 1989 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, Manoj Joshi has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, while a 1991 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre Ms V Vidyavathi was posted as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and a 1992 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Neeraj Mittal is now Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas. Similarly, a 1993 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, Amit Agrawal has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications; is a 1993 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Sunil Paliwal as Chairman, Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) at Secretary level; a 1994 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, Srivatsa Krishna as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and a 1994 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, Atish Chandra will be Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.
