No successor to Gurdeep Singh so far; NTPC to be headless
As a ten-year and seven months tenure of Gurdeep Singh as Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NTPC coming to an end on July 31, 2026, the Government of India has not declared any name for his successor in spite of having interviewed as many as 18 candidates on July 4, 2026. The PSU, under the Ministry of Power, will be headless from August 1, 2026.
