Most junior, least experienced recommended as Director (Fin) to revamp WAPCOS' financial condition
Believe it or not but it's true that a candidate, from non-align sector and having the least experience and the most junior among the other eight experienced candidates, has been selected for the post of Director (Finance), WAPCOS.
A DGM level candidate, who was selected from petroleum sector, superseded experienced candidates: Director (Finance), Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited; Chief General Manager CGM Finance, NBCC (India) Limited; Additional General Manager, NTPC Limited; General Manager NHPC; Chief General Manager, Grid Controller Of India Limited (Grid-India); General Manager GM REC Limited; General Manager, Gail (India) Limited and Chief General Manager, ONGC.
One fails to understand why the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) and the CMD of WAPCOS, as members of the Selection Board, recommended the least experienced and most junior candidate for the appointment to the WAPCOS Board to oversee its financial affairs at a time when the company already slid into debt.
