India Optel Limited goes headless on June 1
With the superannuation of incumbent Tushar Tripathi in May, 2026, a vacancy of Chairman & Managing Director, India Optel Limited is arising as the Government of India did not find a suitable candidate to succeed him. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), which held interviews for the selection on April 22, 2026, failed to find a suitable candidate after interviewing as many as ten short-listed candidates.
The Board recommended the Administrative Ministry/Department to choose an appropriate course of further action for selection including the Search cum Selection Committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority.
India Optel Limited, a fully owned Government of India, Enterprise, under Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence has been incorporated to achieve self-reliance in the field of Optoelectronics solutions for Armed Forces, and Paramilitary Forces of Ministry of Home Affairs along with other customers.
