Anupam Misra, Director (Marketing), will be taking over the charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) on July 1, 2026. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment to the post. He will succeed Sanjiv Kumar Singh ending tenure on June 30, 2026.

Misra holds a B.Tech (Hons.) in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIM Lucknow. He has also attained a certificate for the General Management for Shipping from IIM Ahmedabad and a one-year International Business Program from IIM Kolkata.

He is a General Management professional with 33+ years of experience in the areas of marketing and international trading, with extensive hands-on exposure to industrial raw materials (minerals, metals, chemicals, etc.), agro-commodities, engineering goods, and project business in a multi-commodity, multi-market B2B environment. Developing new business solutions and structuring complex transactions in a B2B setup, from concept to delivery, has been his forte.

Prior to joining Hindustan Copper Ltd as Chairman & Managing Director on July 1, 2026, Misra served as Director (Marketing) in Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) from July 14, 2020 to June 30, 2026. During his tenure in FACT, he improved the distribution network and expanded the market area & product basket, including imported fertilizers. Misra also held the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of FACT for a brief period from January 5, 2026 to February 2, 2026.

Earlier, Misra held the post of Director (Marketing) at PEC Ltd., a PSU under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, for four years. Over all he has around 10 years board level experience in two PSUs. Misra also worked as General Manager (Marketing) at STC of India Ltd., New Delhi, where he gained extensive experience in international trading and marketing operations.
