A done deal: Preferred postings of Executives in NPCC Ltd?
The ‘bureaugram’ had carried a piece of news on January 26, 2026 regarding an alleged Goa-based deal involving an Advocate, senior officials, and a Chhattisgarh-based contractor acting as a middleman in transfer and posting matters.
On May 3, 2026, it was further reported that the Zonal Manager, Kolkata, would be shifted to Headquarters to handle projects in place of the suspended Executive Director. Significantly, the official posted in Chhattisgarh has now allegedly been brought to Kolkata as Zonal Manager to shield serious corruption allegations and questionable project dealings from scrutiny.
The said Chhattisgarh based contractor allegedly has substantial business interests in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, and officials who worked with him in these States are allegedly being promoted and posted as Zonal Managers in different States or in HQ to facilitate expansion of his influence and business interests. Corruption is alleged to have reached alarming levels, with the Department reportedly functioning under contractor influence rather than governmental control.
The alleged Advocate–Contractor–Officials nexus reflects a deep administrative collapse, where project allotments and illegal collections are allegedly being managed through a corruption syndicate while the PSU struggles financially. The matter warrants urgent intervention by higher authorities and serious examination by the Bar Council of India on issues of professional ethics by Advocate.
