LPG crisis: Tourism sector grinding to a standstill
If the Government of India does not act timely in ensuring the supply of commercial LPG cylinders, the tourism industry would grind completely to a standstill.
Tourism sector is a contributory factor in generating revenue and a livelihood to the people scraping a living in Tourism.
If withholding the supply of commercial LPG cylinders continues, it will wreak havoc on tourism industry.
Tourists who book tickets and hotels are on the horns of dilemma. Santosh Borde, a tour operator of ‘Arya Holidays’ told the ‘bureaugram’, “We are keeping eye on the situation. We have booked hotels and tickets for the tourists and now stopped further bookings for the time being.
We are pinning our hopes on the government. It will take some decision and ensure hassle free supply of commercial LPG cylinders paving the way for hoteliers to torch their kitchens for the tourists”.
