IRFC signs loan agreement with L&T Metro Rail, Hyderabad
IRFC signed a landmark Rs 13,527 crore term loan agreement with L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) & Hyderabad Metro Rail for refinancing the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, marking one of India’s largest urban transit refinancing transactions.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Manoj Kumar Dubey, IRAS, CMD, IRFC; K Ramakrishna RAO, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana; Sarfaraz Ahmad, IAS, MD, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL); Randhir Sahay, Director (Finance) - Additional Charge, IRFC; Ms Deepa Kotnis, Executive Director (Finance), IRFC; along with senior officials from IRFC, HMRL & L&TMRHL.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-I, spanning 69.2 km across three corridors with 57 stations, is among the world’s largest metro rail projects developed under the PPP model and currently serves over 5 lakh passenger journeys daily.

The transaction reflects IRFC’s growing role in financing strategically important public infrastructure projects and sustainable urban mobility initiatives aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
