Ex-MP CM Chouhan hugs Muslims; being praised on social media

Amid the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) apparently deriving political mileage out of communal hatred against Muslim community, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, presently a BJP MP from Vidisha and Union Agriculture Minister, is being lauded on social media for embracing the members of Muslim community during his field visit.
The members of Muslim community are showing solidarity with Chouhan and describing him as a secular leader among BJP leaders by commenting on social media.
The meeting of Shivraj with the members of Muslim community indicates some internal politics and sends a message to the party leadership.
Notably, Chouhan, who served as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 2005 to 2018 and 2020 to 2023, was not installed as Chief Minister despite the victory under his leadership in 2023 Assembly elections.
Instead of announcing his name again for Chief Minister, the name of Dr Mohan Yadav was declared for the same.
Later on, the former Chief Minister was roped in to contest for the Lok Sabha election, from Vidisha constituency in Madhya Pradesh and he won by over eight lakh votes. He enjoys a larger than life image in politics.
