Dr. Pankaj Jain, IAS, PS to Minister of Coal, visited the Damua OC Mine in WCL’s Kanhan Area to review the ongoing Final Mine Closure and repurposing activities. During the visit, he interacted with the Mine Closure Advisory Committee and local villagers to understand their aspirations and explore post-closure livelihood opportunities. He also held discussions with WCL officials and the local district administration. A Venkateshwar Reddy (IPoS), Additional PS to HMoC; Sandeep Paranjpe, Director Technical (P&P), WCL; Laxmikant Mahapatra, AGM Kanhan Area; H B Shinde, GM Environment, WCL HQ; Niteen Sen, TS to DT (P&P), along with the ADM Chhindwara, SDM Junnardev, Tehsildar Junnardev, and other officials from WCL and the District Administration were also present during the visit.
