From the geological landscapes of Mehsana to leadership roles across Dehradun, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Assam & Assam Arakan Basin and Kolkata, Pant’s journey reflects the evolution of a geoscientist who combined technical depth with institutional leadership. A Geologist trained from Kumaun University, Nainital, he joined ONGC in 1989 and went on to build a distinguished career spanning exploration, basin evaluation, and strategic geoscience management.

His decades-long odyssey across ONGC’s exploration ecosystem was marked by analytical rigour, calm leadership, and an unwavering commitment to scientific excellence. Rising steadily through the ranks, from Geologist to Executive Director, he contributed significantly to strengthening ONGC’s geological understanding and exploration framework.

Known for his composed demeanour, sharp technical acumen, and mentorship-oriented approach, Pant earned deep respect across the organisation. He was never just interpreting geology, he was shaping perspectives, guiding teams, and contributing to ONGC’s long-term exploration vision.
