IIT Kanpur: Neelkanth Mishra does his alma mater proud
Congratulations to distinguished alumnus, Neelkanth Mishra (BT/CSE/1997), on his appointment as Executive Director at the World Bank Headquarters, Washington DC, USA.
Mishra currently serves as Chief Economist, Axis Bank; Head of Global Research (and Member of the Board), Axis Capital. Widely regarded as one of India's leading economists, he previously spent over two decades at Credit Suisse, where he served as Managing Director, Co-Head of Asia Pacific Strategy, and India Strategist.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Mishra serves as Part-Time Chairperson of UIDAI (Aadhaar), Part-Time Member of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), and Member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council. He has also advised key national initiatives, including the India Semiconductor Mission and the 15th Finance Commission.
A Gold Medalist and Distinguished Alumnus Awardee (2020) of IIT Kanpur, Mishra has consistently been recognized among India's top analysts and remains a respected voice on economic and policy matters.
