Spanning 2,843 route kilometres, the Dedicated Freight Corridor has emerged as a game-changer for freight transportation in India. The network continues to set new benchmarks in operational performance, handling an average of 406 freight trains per day and achieving a record 907 train interchanges in a single day on 26.01.2026. During 2025–26, the corridors carried 586 billion Gross Tonne Kilometres (GTKM), reflecting the growing confidence and the increasing shift of freight to the DFC network. These achievements highlight DFCCIL’s pivotal role in reducing transit times, improving supply chain efficiency, and strengthening the nation's economic growth through a modern, high-capacity freight rail network.
