MECL marked a significant achievement on June 10, 2026 with the unveiling of its Indigenous Borehole Deviation Survey Instrument by Indra Dev Narayan, CMD, MECL.

Developed by MECL's Instrumentation Team led by Srinivas Rao, HoD Instrumentation  in collaboration with VIT-AP University, the instrument is designed to accurately measure borehole inclination and azimuth, enhancing the precision and reliability of mineral exploration activities. The development represents an important step towards reducing dependence on imported technologies and strengthening indigenous technological capabilities in the exploration sector.

The unveiling ceremony was held in the presence of Pankaj Pandey, Director (Technical), Surendra Singh Kshatriya, Director (Finance), General Managers, HoDs and senior officials of MECL.

This achievement reflects MECL's continued focus on innovation, research and in-house technology development in support of the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. It also highlights the organization's commitment to advancing scientific and technological excellence for strengthening India's mineral exploration capabilities.
