Two-year service at centre mandatory for IG level empanelment in GoI
The officers of Indian Police Service (IPS) belonging to 2011 batch onwards will be eligible for holding Inspector General (IG) or Inspector General (IG) equivalent posts in the Government of India only if they have served at Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Inspector General (DIG) level posts at centre. The Government of India has made it mandatory in its orders.
