Anupam Misra, Director (Marketing), The Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited, who was selected for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Limited at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on March 12, 2026, has reportedly decided not to appear for the interview of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) being held by Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) set up by the Ministry of Steel on March 14, 2026.

According to sources, Misra was number one in the list of candidates and only full time functional director with good multifaceted experience among contenders. All others are EDs from various PSUs.

He was also a strong contender for the post of CMD, RINL. Copper’s gain is Steel’s loss.
