As many as 11 candidates have been shortlisted for the post of Director (Finance), GAIL (India) Limited falling vacant on July 1 this year with the expiring term of incumbent Rakesh Kumar Jain. Among the shortlisted candidates, Mrs Ragini Advani, Director (Finance), IRCON International Limited emerged as the strongest candidate.

Besides, six internal candidates are in the race include: Satish Kumar Sinha, ED; Pankaj Bhutani, CGM; Ashish Kumar Purwar, CGM; Raja Kumar Sahoo, CGM; Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, GM; Amit Jhalani, GM. On other hand, three external candidates are being interviewed include: Shyamalendu Bhushan Das, GM, SCI; Amit Mitra, ED, HPCL; Ashok Kumar Jain, CGM, IOCL and Sundeep Pal, ED Pay Commission in Railways.
